Welcome to Ipswich Cats Protection - a branch run entirely by volunteers
** Cat waiting list **
As of June 2018 we have had to take the decision to close our waiting list to any new cats. We greatly regret this and hope to reopen our list soon. Our capacity is such that we can only deal with a certain number of cats at any one time.
** Vacancy **
We have a vacancy for a rehoming officer. This key role is essentially our "cats out" person. It involves dealing with enquiries from the public about homing a cat, arranging home checks and matching cats to potential adopters. Arranging the timely transit of cats from care through to adoption is vital to ensure more cats can then be helped. We are looking for an organised and dedicated person with their own transport (mileage will be paid). Training will be provided by the existing post.
If you feel you can help our branch in this or any volunteer capacity, do please contact Teresa on 0345 371 2069
Areas covered: Ipswich branch covers the post code areas IP1 - IP5 & IP7 - IP11.
Fund raising: We fund raise regularly, both to raise much needed funds for the cats and to raise the profile of the branch. We run a Christmas fete in Nov/Dec, charity nights and car boot sales (see Summer dates on events page). And we could do so much more with more volunteers.
We have our own charity shop at 184 Bramford Lane, Ipswich, do please come and visit us Mon to Sat 9am to 5pm (3pm close on Fridays)
We have many members who receive quarterly newsletter updates on the cats, to which they are welcome to contribute articles/photos etc. Annual membership is only £5.00 per year. Details from Brenda email email@example.com
The Cats: We do request a set fee of £55 for every cat or kitten. Cats Protection asks adopters for this fee when rehoming a cat. If you feel able to make a donation on top of this fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard, and thank you for your decision to rehome a CP cat. For this fee, you will get a pet that is:
microchipped, vaccinated, spayed or neutered if needed and treated for fleas / worms.
Our cats are always checked over by a vet before homing, and come with one months free pet insurance. See the homing page for further details of all we do for our cats, and the attendant costs. Please note we will home to rented accomodation only on receipt of your landlords written permission.
